UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures

In 2022 Dusseldorp Forum partnered with UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures to “collaboratively develop and promote thriving intergenerational community-led housing projects” in Australia, using demonstration projects as the primary vehicle, underpinned by the core principle of community self-determination.

Beenleigh Housing and Development Company Community Hub

BHDC Community Hub is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation that strives to support, enhance and transform the lives of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

Logan Together

Logan Together is a 10-year community movement to grow children up well. It’s a collaboration between the community, service providers, community organisations, government partners and the business community to ensure Logan kids grow up as healthy and full of potential as any other group of Australian kids.

ACER

Dusseldorp Forum and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) have partnered to evaluate the effectiveness of the school readiness television initiative called Little J and Big Cuz.

Big Picture Education Australia

Dusseldorp Forum has partnered with Big Picture Education Australia to develop a parallel pathway to university for Big Picture students.

Sydney Story Factory

The Sydney Story Factory is a creative writing centre with a twist. Young people enter through the The Martian Embassy and Gift Shop – a fantastical space designed to take them out of their everyday world and ignite their imaginations.

The Aurora Project

Dusseldorp Forum partners with The Aurora Project to support the development and delivery of The Aspiration Initiative (TAI) academic enrichment program, an innovative pilot program that embeds Aboriginal knowledge at its core. The program is the first of its kind in Australia.

WorldSkills Foundation

The WorldSkills Foundation (WSF) was launched in Madrid, Spain in 2011 and is the research, advocacy and education arm of WorldSkills International. Its purpose is to complement the WorldSkills Competition. In this way the Foundation aims to achieve its shared mission with WorldSkills International to promote skills across the world.

The Social Outfit

The Social Outfit is a new design school and retail store in Sydney’s inner West providing education, training and employment opportunities for young people from new migrant and refugee communities.

Beyond Empathy: 3 Moree

3 Moree is a potentially ground-breaking joint venture between the local Moree Aboriginal Education Consultative Group, Moree East Public School, Kiah Aboriginal Pre school, the Aboriginal Employment Strategy and Beyond Empathy (BE) – that seeks to improve educational and social outcomes for Aboriginal children in Moree.

Corroboree Sydney

Corroboree Sydney is a celebration of Australia’s rich cultural heritage, featuring leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, writers, dancers and musicians showcasing their creativity and sharing their stories in over 100 events.

Enabling Spaces

The Enabling Spaces Evaluation Framework gives alternative learning organisations a sector-relevant tool in which to measure and benchmark the impact of their work with young people.

National Indigenous Science Education Program

The National Indigenous Science Education Program uses science projects to enhance educational outcomes for young people particularly in regional and rural communities, working with Indigenous high school students as mentors and role models.

The Bread and Butter Project

The Bread & Butter Project is an artisan bakery social enterprise that provides training and employment opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers based in Sydney.

Ern MacDonald Fellowship

The Ern MacDonald Fellowship, in memory of a great industrial relations visionary, launches the careers of talented young tradespeople and is supported by project partners, the MacDonald family, Dusseldorp Forum and WorldSkills Australia.

Green Team

A partnership project between WorldSkills Australia, ARUP & Dusseldorp Skills Forum.

Indigenous Plumbing Team Challenge

The WorldSkills Australia National Competition hosted the inaugural Plumbing Team Challenge at Sydney Olympic Park. This event tested and showcased the skills and talent of young Indigenous plumbers from parts of remote and rural Australia over a 3 day competition.

Y Green + I Green

Developing a residential sustainability project where young people are trained and subsequently employed to conduct home sustainability consultations in their local community.

Australian Youth Mentoring Network

Information about programs, practitioners, training, tools and resources for those interested in youth mentoring.

Make It Work

Building on its experience in starting up the Career WorkKeys community based labour hire program on the Central Coast, Dusseldorp Skills Forum is working in partnership with Narrabri Shire Council, MAKE IT WORK, AgriFood Skills Australia, and Tocal College to pilot an innovative cross industry skills program aimed at breeding flexibility and responsiveness in local labour forces, building resilience into regional economies and retaining skills and people in regions.

Real Skills Real Work

DSF partnered with Dare to Lead and the Ernabella Anangu School in South Australia in a remote indigenous community to provide real pathways from school to work for young people.

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

On 12 June 2008, DSF brought together thirty-five people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, early childhood, community, training and academic networks who are involved in training, support and services in early childhood education and the care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children for a national roundtable meeting.

National Youth Commitment

The National Youth Committment was about guaranteeing that all young people have access to Year 12 or its equivalent or a job with training. Six partnerships were established between 1999 and 2001 to explore the capacity of local communities to deliver a Youth Commitment.

Try’aTrade Croc Skills

An engaging and simple activity involving schools, community and skilled workers in providing hands on ‘Try’aTrade’ opportunities. Includes an overview of a project and a “How-To” manual.

Skills Across the World

Showcases projects undertaken by young skills teams working with local communities in Zimbabwe, East Timor, Kenya and Cape York and gives a feel for the realities on the ground for organisations and individuals wishing to do something similar.
