Current Partnerships

These are some of the organisations and initiatives we partner with to make positive change together.

Learning the Macleay

Learning the Macleay (LtM) is a community-led, collective impact and place-based initiative that seeks to identify and build upon the strengths of the community and create better futures for children and their families through locally tailored and evidence-driven solutions to local challenges.

At the heart of LtM is the goal of crafting a positive narrative for the Macleay Valley, highlighting its people, culture, and opportunities. Emphasizing the significance of healing, trauma, and grief, LtM integrates these aspects into local clinical, justice, and education practices.

LtM is dedicated to enhancing local learning, participation, and employment prospects, especially for young people. This involves creating opportunities for existing skills and tapping into the expertise of the community to foster employment.

A central role for LtM is to create accountability and align government funding with priorities outlined by the Macleay Valley community.

LtM has establsihed a Community Media Team comprised of young people and staff from local delivery partners and they capture the events and activities that are taking place locally. This team is also interviewing key Elders and community members to increase the understanding and knowledge of Dunghutti culture.

Healing the Heart of the Macleay

When Dunghutti woman Jo Kelly speaks about her work, it becomes evident that her decades of experience as a fierce advocate, compassionate leader and community connecter have profoundly shaped her approach today.
